Yet again! The need to talk about a past event is on my mind right now, I don't know why but, I woke up to another reminder that 2020 valentine’s day was spent alone!I saw it flash in my sleep today. Honestly, if you ask me, I feel like everyone should totally forget about valentine’s day, like forget about the gifts, forget about the flowers, forget about all the merchandise and stuff that comes with it all! I know that valentine’s day for me it’s just like a regular day and a walk in the park.
Now don’t say I am the grinch, I obviously am not, listen, the thing is, a lot of people use the day tagged "Valentines"as a way to escape from the reality of what it is they are facing in their relationship. Like, suffering since your husband beats you every other day or if you have a wife who literally just makes your life unbearable and all. Let’s bring it down to dating, let’s say your boyfriend is someone who literally cheats on you every other day or your girlfriend is like the number one player in town and suddenly, you feel Valentine’s day is the one thing that will get rid of all the emotions, drama and baggage in existence?
I may not be an expert in much but when it comes to love, one thing that I am is, a realist. Listen, if you’ve found love, stick to it and if you’ve not, don’t feel sad about it, don’t let the pressure of the day called valentine’s day get to you ever, let it go, relax & breathe.(To whom this dream that led to this revelation may concern, lol!)
Now listen up! The thing you should do every Valentine is literally reach out to your loved ones, reach out to people who make you feel special every other day, reach out to people who are there for you, reach out to people who genuinely care about you, I know this years Valentines has passed but plan for 2021, God spearing our lives, amen. Love is not just everything boiling down to all the sex sex sex. no! no! no! no! Make it special for someone who on a regular day doesn’t even expect you showing them love okay! That’s what y’all should do today and every other day.
