CALABAR INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL RETURNS TO LIGHT UP EASTER

Calabar International Jazz Festival 2014 Press Conference
Following a successful debut in 2013, the Calabar International Jazz Festival, has announced this year's lineup for an exciting Easter weekend.
Conoisseurs of smooth jazz, R 'n' B and African dance music can look forward to three nights of fabulous performances by Hugh Masekela, Liquideep, Jimmy Dludlu and Micasa Music (South Africa), Gwyn Jay Allen (UK) and local superstars Dare Art Alade, Yinka Davies and Kunle Ayo. Three more major international artistes are to be announced in the next few days.
Speaking on behalf of broadcast partners MTV Base, Alex Okosi, Senior VP and Managing Director, Viacom International Media Networks Africa, said, "We're happy to be broadcasting Calabar International Jazz Festival once again. It brings a different edge to MTV Base and provides our audience with an eclectic mix of music and great live performances from artistes who deserve more exposure."
For EbonyLife TV, CEO and popular chat show host, Mo Abudu, said, "The Jazz Festival is another great reason for people to visit Calabar. It's a fantastic addition to Nigeria's live music scene and we're looking forward to profiling such a fascinating lineup of artistes."
Calabar Jazz Festival is the backbone of a great Easter weekend break for Nigerians, looking forward to escaping hectic city life in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. Calabar beckons with its reputation for being the cleanest, greenest and safest state capital in Nigeria. In addition to the concerts, there will be fun day-time activities and tours for all the family, fabulous VIP after-parties, and, of course, an opportunity to sample some of the local delicacies which have made Calabar famous with food lovers.
While the concerts will light up the night at Calabar's Cultural Centre, with a glittering array of music stars, the venue will play host to an intriguing range of daytime activities. Music Meets Photography brings together some of Nigeria's most promising creative photographers with an audience seemingly addicted to being 'snapped', against a backdrop of live jazz and local music. Art lovers will be able to visit a gallery of beautiful paintings and sculpture, curated by Terra Kulture, in the large and imposing lobby.
The confirmed line-up of artistes for the Calabar International Jazz Festival from 18th - 20th April is as follows:

ABOUT BEZ

Bez
Born Emmanuel Bezhiwa Idakula, November 10, 1983 in Jos, Nigeria. He did not stumble upon music; it was inscribed on his genes. He grew up as a musical child in a musical family, absorbing every bit of music around him and transmitting all of it through the instrument he loved most, the guitar. While in college, he pursued an undeniable passion for music, honing his skills day by day to produce one of the most remarkable playing styles. His first live performance was with gospel group KUSH, and then other regular performances with Sage Has son, (A spoken word artist) followed, sharing the stage with Mode9, Terry tha Rap Man, Djinee, M.I, Roof Top Mcs and many more in quite a number of events including Taruwa® an unplugged show he features in regularly. One of his most defining moments was performing as an opening act with Cobhams, an ace producer at Asa's two day concert in Lagos.
Tagged as “The next big thing” in the Nigerian music scene by the Guardian and Thisday newspapers in two consecutive weeks, his style can be described as a hybrid of jazz, soul, and world music, a really eclectic sound he calls alternative soul. Though quite different from the ever-popular afro hip-hop genre in Nigeria, he believes the quality of his music would create a niche by itself taking him to greater heights as he takes a life long ride creating and sharing his music with the world.
Bez performed at the debut edition of the Calabar International Jazz Festival which held last year.

AURA COOL Wednesday morning and I feel…. Well I can’t say, but I know this too shall pass. Woke up feeling good about the day, just got a call from my new found friend (what? You expected me to say my new found love right? Not so soon guys, still basking in the single mood) Aura-Cool , he really is so different from a lot of dude’s out there, I found myself paying close attention to all he had to say regarding relationship, sex, love, life, and now I have myself thinking, this guy might make a great friend with benefits, he looks like Justine Timberlake and I look like Milla Kunis, let’s get together and do a movie I guess(loll, just kidding), but really, could he be the next love Dr.?   DAN AS A JUDGE ON NIGERIA'S GOT TALENT   I, DAN AND MERCEE, XMAS LAST YEAR Speaking of Dr. Love, the real Dr. Love’s birthday is here finally! Dan Foster aka The Big Dawg turns.. I dare not say the age (laughing hard) but the most important part is that he is adding a ful

HAPPY LAW SUIT Not Kris Humpries though

Oh my, where is my happiness? who took it and why? oops! there it is, I found it. They are going down! God help me, laughing hard. GUESS THIS IS THE PART WHERE LEMAR TELL KRIS, "HEY, I'M NOT THE ONE YOU PUT A ROCK ON IT, SO SADDLE UP SOLDIER AND PLAY FAIR". Well, I know someone or persons who at the end of the day, took their own law suit to the court "literally", check out former bromance buddies, Kris Humpries, the ex husband to Kim Kardashian and Lemar Odom, the husband to Khloe Kardashian Odom, in a one on one basketball game between them on the court at the play offs between  LA Clippers and Brooklyn Nets (this is the part Jim Carey goes off and says, its show time") I smell a cold war. THERE IS A REASON FOR EVERYTHING! Moving on, I had a very stress filled day on Monday which caused me to literally sleep off till 4 am on Tuesday morning, thank goodness I woke up just at the nick of time before the driver got here(home). At the studio and

VIEN 007, BIRTHDAY GIRL PHOTO BY MAX GREY MARCH 27 1988 - MARCH 27 2013? Time of death? of what? Not me oh, not anyone, but my insanity, heart ache, being broke (laughing so hard), no love, and all the bad, and ugly things that was in my path(I wish I didn't have a heart, Waje knows how I feel, see her new video.) At the end of the day, my day came and passed and I kissed the drought goodbye, its all brand new for me just like the video above....I will be back to finish up, and oh that building that got burned yesterday was really burnt down to almost nothing but in the end, the fire was finally put out, I should say more about how my birthday went, but believe me, the day felt more like a funeral than a birthday, up till the point mum served me my birthday meal (Pomo and Beans with Yam and Plantain), then I went to church to praise God www.davidschristiancentre.org and then finally, Amz and Ugo did make it awesome in the end, by surprisingly taking me out to get a
