‘Breaking Bad,’ ‘Modern Family’ Take Top Honors in a Tribute-Heavy Emmy Awards

The 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, honoring the best in primetime television programming from June 1, 2012 until May 31, 2013, were held on September 22, 2013 at the Nokia Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, California. CBS televised the ceremony within the United States. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony was held on September 15.
 


Netflix made history by earning the first Primetime Emmy Award nominations for original online only web television. Three of its web series, Arrested Development, Hemlock Grove, and House of Cards, earned a total of 14 nominations. Netflix made history with three wins including David Fincher's Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for directing the pilot episode "Chapter 1" as well as a pair of Creative Arts Emmy Awards, making "Chapter 1" the first Primetime Emmy-awarded webisode.

I think it needs to be said: there were too many tributes, and just too much death, on tonight’s show. For a program that’s supposed to be about the best of what TV currently represents, there was precious little of that currency represented.

It’s stunning that no one looked at a show rundown and did the math to realize that 10-15 percent of the show touched on death, directly or indirectly. And this, with TV as vital as it’s ever been.

Indeed, in a year when a network that can’t be found on a traditional programming grid is getting nominated for Emmys, a tribute to the Beatles playing Ed Sullivan could hardly have felt less vital.

Nor the NPH cabaret routines. Nor the “Breaking Bad” dubstep dance. Nor the Elton John album plugging. Almost none of the set pieces celebrated television — it was a genuinely baffling night.

HAPPY LAW SUIT Not Kris Humpries though

Oh my, where is my happiness? who took it and why? oops! there it is, I found it. They are going down! God help me, laughing hard. THE DAY AFTER LIFE BEFORE HER EYES

Not me oh, not anyone, but my insanity, heart ache, being broke (laughing so hard), no love, and all the bad, and ugly things that was in my path(I wish I didn't have a heart, Waje knows how I feel, see her new video.)
